If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading. – Lao Tzu
I started to photograph an object yesterday and ended up capturing images of those hidden details the naked eye doesn’t first see. Thank goodness for macro lenses and computer monitors, so now we can see what hides beneath the surface. It’s like opening a surprise gift on Christmas morning, just when you think you’ve unwrapped everything!
Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture is ready for your guessing pleasure!
What Is It?!?
Yesterday’s image has got to be the best example of what this “365-Day Project in Perception” is all about. What we see isn’t necessarily what the object is. What the object is isn’t what we see.
The guesses are always the best part of this interactive blog! Is it something to do with an orange or a lemon? No. Foam on a latte? (This is what I would have guessed!) Not foam on a latte. “It looks like sprinkled cinnamon on top of whipped cream next to a grapefruit.” Yes, it does! But it’s not that either. “Is it food?” No, not food. Foam at the beach? No. Inside a conch shell. No.
The correct answer is … a gemstone.
