Macaws

Check out the Wildlife Hub blog where I’m a contributing author/photographer. There are lots of incredible wildlife photos there. This is my second post.

Macaws are gorgeous, vibrantly colored members of the parrot family. Their coloring adapts to their surroundings in Central and South American rain forests, such as green canopies and colorful flowers and fruits. Macaws have large, powerful beaks that easily crack nuts and seeds. Did you know that their dry, scaly tongues have a bone inside that helps them tap into fruits? These Macaws were photographed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Kissimmee, Florida.
