Day 179 – Zen Moments

The Dove, on silver pinions, winged her peaceful way. – James Montgomery

My moment of peace, pure zen, is happening at this very moment, as my 14-year old cat, Shadow, is resting on my lap as I work. Her constant purring is almost as tranquil as the sound of the steady rain.

Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture was a normal photograph until I tweaked its color and used its negative image. Now it looks nothing like the original! Can you tell? Do you know?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 178)

Was is a flower? No. How about a conch shell? Not that either. “Almost looks like a dental impression.” Not one of those. How about clay, play dough, or something moldable? It’s definitely not moldable. “A popped pink balloon on some white pottery?” Interesting perspective! But not that either. So what was it?

What you saw was part of a silver ice bucket with reflections of its surrounding item’s colors. Quite abstract, eh?!?

  1. I think I shouldn’t have looked at Gail’s comment. Now I have no chance to make my guess! 😉

But my guess is this: a chocolate brownie cake. It’s brown anyway, like a tree bark. 🙂

  2. The spot on the brick fence post where the tow truck backed into it was still visible.
It had been a few years but the scar looked fresh.
I guess brick takes a while to weather, a bit like fresh concrete which blinds you for a couple of summers before it tones down a bit.
I remember the tow truck and I remember that day.
The chip in the brickwork was the least of my worries.
The tow truck ride had taken several hours.
We drove into the setting sun which just added an extra level to my already galactic sized headache.
The Big Cat sat forlornly in the driveway oozing bodily fluids.
It was going to be a week before anyone could look at her and I was stuck here on my own for Christmas.
