Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. – Mark Twain
Isn’t it Friday yet? What a week, I’m ready to play and try to feel good without 150 different things to do! Meanwhile, I’ve got the daily mystery “what is it?!?” picture ready for you to guess. Can you tell? Do you know?
What Is It?!?
What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 205)
Penelope started the guessing game with, “I am sure I am way off here but is it a fancy bottle of some sort…LOL!” My response was “It’s not fancy …” … which I was hoping you’d narrow down your answer! 😉 But alas, Melanee thought it looked like a handle to a tool, like a screwdriver. But it’s not that. Gail guessed the eye of a knitting needle, not that either. Both Pat and Jude think it looks like a bike fork, but it’s not that either. Pat’s final guess: “a nail polish bottle?” My reply, “Not nail polish.” So … got any idea now?
So what was it?!? What you saw was the side of a miniature Coca Cola bottle, but it’s really a lighter!
And a bonus, we even got a story from Terry!
Billy had replaced that drive shaft several times and he was getting a bit sick of it.
He drove that little Honda really hard, but you had to. 360cc is tiny for a car, no matter how small that car might be. Front wheel drive and very little weight was causing most of the problems, but it was a great little car. It tended to conk out in traffic in really hot weather, being air cooled, but it iwas so light that he could push start it in traffic to get it going again. All he had to do was jump out, give it a bit of a shove, jump back in and drop the clutch in second and she would fire up. It must have been amazing to watch from the car behind!
Spinning the wheels was really easy in the wet or dry and this was what was chewing out the drive shafts. As time went buy Honda stopped making new ones and the second hand ones ran out fast as the left one would go more often than the right, for a reason no one could explain, so there were less and less of them on the road until one day they were all gone.
Billy would have kept his going for a little longer but he was kinda broke and there was a baby and kids cost, big time. So it sat in the driveway until some bloke knocked on the door and asked if he could have it. Reluctantly Billy handed over the keys and watched as it was towed away. A few years later money started finding it’s way into Billy’s life and he wished that he had kept that little Honda but at the time he had lost hope let her go.
How long do you hang onto stuff in the hope that fate will supply the funds to fix things up?
Billy could not answer that question and neither can I.
It’s one of life’s little mysteries; it’s up their with why people buy water in a bottle when they get get it out of a tap. No one is ever going to be able to explain that one!
Not a clue, but looks interesting….my son looked at it and was thinking of candy, but then, he often is…. 😉

Ha ha, I just pigged out on some cookies! Alas, it’s not candy, but you both deserve a piece for playing! 🙂

That sounds good, too. I’ve only had one cup today, haven’t felt that great. I joke you know I feel bad when I don’t drink a lot of coffee! 😉

It makes my tummy hurt, so I don’t drink it much now. But, yeah…sometimes when I am extra tired, I have a cup….sometimes I mix it with hot chocolate and Irish Cream creamer….hmmm

OOOOOH, I love it when kids play! Carissa’s son guessed, too. But I hate to say that it isn’t beer, a waterfall, brown water, or root beer.
