Marlyn’s perspective: “ice / fruity popsicle / crystal napkin holder …. i can go on and on …it looks citrusy delicious” So many yummy perspectives but not the mystery subject. Marilyn’s perspective: “Looks like crystalized sugar.” Not crystalized sugar either. So what was it?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 271)

Was it an airmail envelope or a plane ticket? Not either one of those. “Is this a napkin (showing flight routes) from aboard an airline?” Not a napkin from an airline. How about the cloth protecting the back of an airline seat? Not the cloth of an airline seat. Is it material? Not material, although it sure looks like fabric! Ceramic? Not ceramic. But I’ll give you a clue. It’s round. A football? Not a football. Think travel. Jude replied, “Huh! The only round thing I can think of is a globe, but that sure doesn’t look like a globe.” And you would be correct, not only that it doesn’t look like a globe, but it is indeed a globe! Once I zoomed in close and took this macro photograph, you could see all of the details in the paper on the globe. That subject was a suggestion from Ian, my son. Turned out to be a good one! (“Map” would have been a correct guess, too.)

Weeping

Was it a pencil sharpener? Not a pencil sharpener. What about a pencil bag? “If it is not this, well the clues were misleading! ” It’s not a pencil bag. Hmmm, I don’t recall leaving clues, but here’s one: you would find this in an office. Well, you could find one just about anywhere, but definitely in an office. So what was it?

What you saw was the top of a computer mouse. Mine gets lots of clicks! 😀

As soon as I’ve posted this, I’m picking up my graphite pencil set, my “how-to” drawing book and pad of paper, and I’m off to explore what comes out of my head tonight. Art is always therapeutic. What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 269)

Marlyn commented, “it’s getting harder. i think this one is out of a crochet or more like something a tissue, cell …under a microscope. i suppose we’re getting to the difficult round/level?” And here I thought this would be easy, but I’ve learned I never can tell. But as a matter of fact, I’ve posted this subject before, and I just discovered, the same picture! (Turns out I did give a different perspective though.) Anyway, back to the guesses. A fish close up? Not a fish but very close! A tangerine or orange? Not a tangerine or orange. So what was it?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 268)

Was it the spines of several files/folders? Not spines of files or folders. How about window blinds? Not window blinds either (had the same guess on Facebook, too). A piano/keyboard? Not that either. The tines of a metal comb or fork? Not tines of a comb or fork. Unfocused window? Not an unfocused window either. So what was it?

What you saw was part of a car’s front chrome grill (looking from the top down). Who ever thought something so ordinary could become so abstract? 😉

Day 268/365 – Wake Up!

There is a noticeable change in the air, the outdoor world is full of various “autumnal” shades of color, a veritable palate of beauty. I love fall, it is my favorite season of the year. The sound of leaves under foot, ahhhhhhhhh. Now, back to reality.

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Days 266 & 267)

Debbie guessed a grease coated casserole dish. Not that. Marlyn then jumped in and asked, “perhaps a ceramic vase?” Although not ceramic, it is pottery, and it is a vase, so ding ding ding rang the winning bell! 😀 I asked if it was easier to guess with the color version. “The color definitely helps.” Remember, I had posted a black and white rendition of this subject for Day 266, and since no-one had guessed it then, I wondered if the “absence of color” changed your perspective. Indeed, it did. Jude commented, “…definitely looks more glass-like in B&W.”  Thanks for playing along with my little experiment!
