The way to know life is to love many things. – Vincent Van Gogh
Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” is ready for your guessing pleasure. Can you tell? Do you know?
What Is It?!?
What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 315)
Kim commented, “…this may take a bit of thought. Is it the bottom of a copper pot?” Not the bottom of a copper pot (but what a neat perspective). Katie said, “It looks like the steel I had in my old coffeebar. We used a rotary blade with specialty sandpaper stuff (Obviously I was not the technical one responsible for the design). That’s what it reminds me of!” That’s what this surface reminds me of, too, that scratched metal look, but it’s not steel. (Though I do think it was meant to look like that.) “I should have known it wouldn’t be that easy!! lol” LOL 🙂 Kim’s second guess: “hair?” Not hair. Heather mused, “it almost looks like a broom finish on cement? it also looks like metal that has not been sanded properly…with the markings left visible…could be so many things” It does look like so many things, and that’s what prompted me to capture this image. Y. Prior shared, “Hi – well for day 314 – I was late in guessing, but it looked like art work to me – a glue relief – where you make lines with glue, let it dry and then paint or cover with foil. (here I posted an old student example:http://time4arttt.blogspot.com/2013/11/glue-relief-example.html) and well, yes, I can see that being a design on a mirror (nice). for day 315 – my first guess was similar to others – (pan or something with stainless steel) – but seeing that it is not that – Is it a zoom of the exterior of a car that is getting repainted?” What cool perspectives! (And I’m so going to try that glue relief technique.) As for today’s pic, it’s not the zoom of the exterior of a car being repainted, but a fascinating perspective.
So what exactly was it?
What you saw was part of a countertop surface, which looked like scratched steel – so much so, I thought it would feel like steel when I touched it. Not the case, I had been fooled (I think it was laminate)! Turned out to be a worthy mystery subject to hear so many of your unique perspectives. 🙂
Gosh Schelley, these latest ones are hard! No idea what this is, unless it is a zebra wearing a belt 😉

Now that’s a funny image! But not a zebra wearing a belt. 🙂 hint: it’s a common object.

Less than 50 days to go, Shelley!! Woo-hoo. This one today looks like some kind of packaging.

I cannot believe we have only 49 days left! Wow. Time is zooming by.
As for today’s pic, it’s not packaging. 🙂

Is it layers of things?

It’s all one object, but there are “layers” of something within.

Looks like the space between appliances in the kitchen. Or a wound up electric cord.

Not between appliances or electric cord.

again, I’m not seeing it…it almost looks like the brown section is layered or accordion like?

I’m not sure if that brown section is true color, it looks more silver when not zoomed in (but I didn’t change the color). It is layered. So what is it?
Hint: we all probably use one.

lol…for some reason I keep coming back to the accordion like section in the fridge door…

Not a fridge door. This is a small item, zoomed up close.
