Weekly Photo Challenge: Juxtaposition

(Two pictures) What better place than Ireland to find juxtapositions? Between the ancient remnants of a society long gone and the modern aspects of life today, Ireland is a juxtaposition itself. The top photograph shows shows older buildings reflected in the sleek glass of a new building in modern-day Dublin. The bottom photograph a modern warehouse – in the middle of the Burren, a rocky, almost moon-like, desolate place – next to an ancient house, now used as storage, too. Then there’s the power lines, which completes this entire juxtaposition!

  1. Love the use of the reflection in the first photo, Schelley. I think Ireland is a juxaposition of sizes–an entire country that appears to have been shrunk (in the most beautiful possible way, I hasten to add.) 🙂
