Weekly Photo Challenge: Abandoned

20100722_122720100722_1228

(Two images) I love abandoned ruins, perhaps because my imagination can run wild thinking of who used to dwell here, what were they like, why did this become abandoned? This particular old stone relic sits on the roadside on a winding road in Ireland. Massive in size, it looks oh-so-cold, except for the green ivy that has decided to call this home.

Food Glorious Food

This vulture was searching for some of that “food glorious food” around the woods behind our house. Lucky me, I was outside with my camera and got lots of great shots, which even showed me the hidden beauty of a vulture – its beautiful wings and feathers!

What Is It?!? – Week 8/52

Colors are the smiles of nature. – Leigh Hunt

I was quite pleased with the outcome of this macro photograph, which is your eighth weekly “what is it?!?” mystery picture, ready for your guessing pleasure. Do you know? Can you tell?

What Is It?!?

Week8

What Was That?!? Last Week’s Picture (Week 7/52)

Fabio mused, “It seems like muscle. It is hard to be guessed!” Not muscle, although I can see that! Tracy thought, “Cooked pasta:-) with water running over it!!!” Not cooked pasta with water running over it, but that is a really neat perspective. Preeti guessed, “a part of some porcelain figure??” Not part of a porcelain figure. “Is it hair?? lovely long golden tresses” Not hair, but I can see that, too. And then Mic came along and guessed, “Some type of synthetic rope?” Ding ding ding!

Yes, what you saw was rope (synthetic), which is part of the handle on a laundry tub.
