A Word a Week Challenge: Figure

figure, noun: form or shape (two images)

I have always been drawn to the Celtic spiral figure, particularly the beautifully engraved spiral on this very, very old grave headstone in Dublin, Ireland. The spiral figure has also found its way into most of my artwork, my favorite is creating spiral Oak trees, such as the one below.

        1. I meant to tell you this tidbit …
When I was trying to think of my 365-day project, I at first considered trees. But I thought, “yeah, like I need 365 assorted paintings/drawings/sculptures of trees in my already cluttered house.” If I had done the trees, the “What Is It?!?” blog never would have happened. But trust me, I still draw/paint lots of trees. 😉
