What Is It?!? – Week 13/52

I believe in the imagination. What I cannot see is infinitely more important than what I can see. – Duane Michals

I’m giving y’all a week away from the illustrious iPhone macro clip-on attachment photographs; instead, this week you’re getting your ordinary – yet lucky number 13th – “what is it?!?” mystery picture to guess. Do you have any idea? Can you tell?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? (Last Week’s Picture) – Week 12/52

Jude started with, “Looks like a handful of mixed dried fruit – raisins, currants, sultanas!” Not mixed dried fruit. “Muesli? or Granola?” Neither. “Is it something edible? Or am I completely in the wrong ballpark?” Stay in the kitchen area; however, you wouldn’t want to EAT this, but you would want to _____ this. Mmmmmm. Remember, this is kind of microscopic, so you’re seeing this REALLY CLOSE UP. “A seed? Mung bean? Something you would grow?” Wrong type of bean. Yes, this is something that was grown. I wouldn’t grow it, but I’m sure thankful that others do! “Coffee bean?” Ding Ding Ding! Coffee grounds.

… Meanwhile, we still had another round of guessing. Linda mused, “Hmm, trail mix or some kind of cereal?” Not trail mix or cereal. “Hmm, What about some kind of sprinkles on a cake or donut? Am I allowed this second guess?” You are allowed as many guesses as you’d like! However, these aren’t sprinkles on a cake or donut, although that sounds really good right now. Fabio, on vacation in Sao Paulo, said, “Let me guess: some kind of cereal or sugar?” Neither cereal or sugar.

So wow, who would have thought that ground coffee would look so much like cereal or dried fruit?!?

Dancing Trees

2014_03_16_9999_4

This image was nice in color, but when I converted it to black and white, suddenly the trees came alive, showing me its dancing arms, all waving to the sky. Do you see that, too?

Image taken in San Antonio, Texas.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Street Life

20100720_9999

This is my favorite street life scene, taken in Kenmare, Ireland. This street was so interesting to explore, you can see the gentleman with the chairs and tables being set up in front of the pub, and different boutique shops and restaurants for as far as the eye can see. This is what I love about Ireland, everything is outdoor oriented, meaning people walk around, mill about on the streets, and just enjoy life. Ah, wish I was back there!

Pretty Little Stamens All Up the Tree

2014_03_23_9999_57-2

Our River Birch tree is in full bloom (and sprouting pollen like you wouldn’t believe, can you see it on the branch?) … this one particular straight branch caught my eye, and my camera’s lens. 🙂

Sending sunshine thoughts to my friends stuck with winter weather and snow!

Spring Wildflowers

One of the neighborhood houses had these beautiful wildflowers covering their yard, and they were simply breathtaking together. Thank goodness we took the time to take photographs when we did as the yard was mowed yesterday!

What Is It?!? – Week 12/52

I recently purchased a “clip-on” macro, wide angle, and fish eye lens for my iPhone, and have been more than pleased with the macro capabilities of this tiny lens! As a matter of fact, last week’s picture I took with my iPhone and macro lens, and decided to do the same this week. After all, a girl’s got to play with new stuff, right?

So here is you’re 12th weekly “what is it?!?” mystery picture, ready for your guessing pleasure. Do you know? Can you tell?

What Was That?!? (Last Week’s Picture) – Week 11/52

Sweetness commented, “I have no bloody clue.” I got a good laugh. “You have no idea how long I looked at that dang picture lol.” Sorry if I made your brain hurt! … seriously, I know how you feel, I’ve had friends post pictures and challenge me to guess, and I’ve no bloody clue either! Lilmisspoutine said, “looks like the flip side of CDs or DVDs … which they’re probably not” Jude jumped in, “I don’t know, I can see how you think that. The colour and the reflections. Maybe they are hanging up somewhere, like a wind chime?”  Not the flip side of CD or DVD or hanging up like wind chimes, but great perspectives! I’ll give y’all a clue: this is inside. Mic mused, “Here is my guess: it is the edge of a cymbal on your son’s drum set.” Not the edge of a cymbal, but another interesting perspective. (And I can totally see that now.)  “Ahh! I thought I had it!” And he usually does! Sarah pondered, “The way the metal is worked it could well be a cymbal! If not, then possibly knives or other cutlery in the kitchen?” Not knives or other cutlery. “Saucepans?” Not saucepans. “Wine cooler?” Not a wine cooler. Then Mic came back, “If it is not a cymbal, maybe it is part of a light fixture or lamp.” And that is the Ding Ding Ding!  Wow. This is part of a glass lamp that was in our room at the Embassy Suites Riverwalk in San Antonio. Great guess, Mic. “Glass!!? I think you had us all fooled on that one…it looks metallic. I have to admit that my guess on this one came out of left field somewhere…not my first impression.” This glass lamp happened to have a metallic part in the middle (that concealed the wiring), so that gave the metallic look and feel.

So yes, what you saw was the edge of a glass lamp.
