Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Back of Things

Cee’s black-and-white photography challenge this time is the back of things, which I love, because we often overlook the interesting things behind. My four back of things include the back of tree leaves, a daisy, my two favorite guys (and their reflections) in Dublin, Ireland, and the back of the Saturn rocket at NASA in Titusville, Florida. That rocket is so huge there wasn’t any way to get the full back without having a lens such as 10mm!

To see other black and white images of back of things, check out Cee’s photo challenge here.

Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Flowers

I’ve been on a black-and-white photography kick lately, so Cee’s weekly challenge is perfect! Check out other entries of black-and-white images of flowers on Cee’s blog here. 🙂

Day 336/365 – Passion’s Humanity

Passion is universal humanity. Without it religion, history, romance and art would be useless. – Honore de Balzac

I seem to be on another black-and-white photography kick again, it’s so fascinating to see an image change before my eyes simply by altering the color. And thus, today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture, devoid of its original color, is ready for your guessing pleasure. Do you know? Can you tell?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 335)

Brett said, “My guess: eyeliner-type pencils wrapped in plastic.” Not eyeliner pencils wrapped in plastic, but that is an interesting perspective. Katie asked, “Is it a kitchen grater?” Not a kitchen grater. And then Kim came along and guessed, “Is it a meat tenderizer mallet?” Ding ding ding! Kim’s getting pretty good at this!

Yes, what you saw was a meat tenderizer mallet, a multi-purpose tool, great for tenderizing, perfect for releasing frustrations. 😉 bang bang bang

Day 248/365 – Back in the Title Again

My life is a struggle. – Voltaire

Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture is ready for your guessing pleasure. What is this made of? Can you tell? Do you know?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 247)

I just love the black and white result of yesterday’s subject. Without the color, it takes on an entirely different look and feel. Shahn thought it was a close-up of a cell phone. But not a cell phone (although I can see that in an abstract way). Melisa thought it looked like a bangle (I can see that, too). If I showed you the color version, you would probably guess it right away. So what was it?

What you saw were some stained glass tiles of a lighted lamp.

A different color perspective.

Black and White Vision

These flowers turned abstract when converted to black and white. I love the outcome!
