Day 186 – Simply Sunshine

The art of art, the glory of expression and the sunshine of the light of letters, is simplicity. – Walt Whitman

There’s a strange glow outside, it’s quite yellow and lacking the familiar rain. Oh! I think it’s called “sunshine.” Nice to have it around again!

Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture is another photograph I took a few months ago, again I’ve altered its color and shown its negative image. Do you know? Can you tell?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 185)

Is it chocolate? No, unfortunately, not chocolate. How about part of an ear? Or a mug handle? Not part of an ear, nor a mug handle. So what was it?

What you saw were the arms of a painted clay sculpture of two people. Looked like copper, but was just plain clay.

Day 170 – The Other Room

Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there’s a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able to see. – Helen Keller

The first person I idolized (besides my mom, of course) was Helen Keller. I remember vividly the turning of those pages, reading about her, being inspired, and awed, not only by her, but her teacher, Annie Sullivan. I must have checked out “The Miracle Worker” from my school’s library dozens of times between the 1st and 6th grades. I wanted to be a teacher for the blind. I’ve been thinking a lot about those early days in school, as a childhood classmate/friend passed away over the weekend. So today’s quote is in honor of Beth; my hope is that like Helen, her room is extraordinary, too.

Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture is ready for your guessing pleasure. Do you know? Can you tell?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 169)

Was it an orange peel? No. How about bacon? Not that either. A broken open piece of bread? No. Interesting, we seem to have a food theme today. How about a part of a clay bowl? Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Yes, what you saw was a part of a decorative piece on a clay bowl.

Day 109 – Logically Speaking

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere. –  Albert Einstein

Finally, the end of the week. And time for funky picture #109!

Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture was inspired by patterns again. I like the flow of this subject. Can you tell? Do you know?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 108)

Yesterday’s picture looked like a fossil from the beach, flower petals, seashell, bread dough, and dried clay. When I said that it isn’t dried, guess-who (Gail) got it right: wet clay.

As I was cleaning up around one of my creative projects, I found this clay and decided to go for an abstract feel. Which it was, it just wasn’t unidentifiable!
