I recently purchased a “clip-on” macro, wide angle, and fish eye lens for my iPhone, and have been more than pleased with the macro capabilities of this tiny lens! As a matter of fact, last week’s picture I took with my iPhone and macro lens, and decided to do the same this week. After all, a girl’s got to play with new stuff, right?
So here is you’re 12th weekly “what is it?!?” mystery picture, ready for your guessing pleasure. Do you know? Can you tell?
What Is It?!?
What Was That?!? (Last Week’s Picture) – Week 11/52
Sweetness commented, “I have no bloody clue.” I got a good laugh. “You have no idea how long I looked at that dang picture lol.” Sorry if I made your brain hurt! … seriously, I know how you feel, I’ve had friends post pictures and challenge me to guess, and I’ve no bloody clue either! Lilmisspoutine said, “looks like the flip side of CDs or DVDs … which they’re probably not” Jude jumped in, “I don’t know, I can see how you think that. The colour and the reflections. Maybe they are hanging up somewhere, like a wind chime?” Not the flip side of CD or DVD or hanging up like wind chimes, but great perspectives! I’ll give y’all a clue: this is inside. Mic mused, “Here is my guess: it is the edge of a cymbal on your son’s drum set.” Not the edge of a cymbal, but another interesting perspective. (And I can totally see that now.) “Ahh! I thought I had it!” And he usually does! Sarah pondered, “The way the metal is worked it could well be a cymbal! If not, then possibly knives or other cutlery in the kitchen?” Not knives or other cutlery. “Saucepans?” Not saucepans. “Wine cooler?” Not a wine cooler. Then Mic came back, “If it is not a cymbal, maybe it is part of a light fixture or lamp.” And that is the Ding Ding Ding! Wow. This is part of a glass lamp that was in our room at the Embassy Suites Riverwalk in San Antonio. Great guess, Mic. “Glass!!? I think you had us all fooled on that one…it looks metallic. I have to admit that my guess on this one came out of left field somewhere…not my first impression.” This glass lamp happened to have a metallic part in the middle (that concealed the wiring), so that gave the metallic look and feel.
So yes, what you saw was the edge of a glass lamp.
