Day 286/365 – Perseverance

Perseverance, secret of all triumphs. – Victor Hugo

Argh, it’s Sunday night and my weekend has suddenly disappeared … but at least today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture is ready for your guessing pleasure. Do you know? Can you tell?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 285)

There were double ding-ding-ding winning bells yesterday. Amanda asked, “Could it be a leaf? :D” Why yes, it could be! Then Kathryn commented, “A lovely leaf?” Yes, it is a leaf. Allan commented, “I see the leaf structure now. I was thinking that is was moldy cheddar.” LOL, definitely not moldy cheddar! (Seriously, I doubt cheese would last that long in our home.) I thought this particular leaf looked quite different in black and white; however, I also love, love, love the autumnal colors in this Magnolia leaf. 🙂

Day 277/365 – Happy Happy Happy

The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions – the little, soon forgotten charities of a kiss or a smile, a kind look or heartfelt compliment. – Samuel Taylor Coleridge

When I began this blog 277 days ago, I never anticipated the strong sense of community that is a result of sharing my work. I’ve made so many friends all over the world, so many connections! I have had some very nice compliments, and these just make my soul sing, so thank you! How gratifying and satisfying. 😀

Now for today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture, which is ready for your guessing pleasure. Can you tell? Do you know?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 276)

First, I want to thank you for all of the happy anniversary wishes! Y’all are so, so nice! Cee guessed the “mystery” subject right away: “Maybe a leaf for today?” Jude also figured it out, “Looks like a decaying leaf to me …” Indeed, what you saw was a leaf, or rather the skeleton of a leaf. The intricate pattern in such a small scale is phenomenal. Don’t you just love Mother Nature?

Lizard Leaf

Found this cute little lizard hanging out in a leaf. I believe it is a Green Anole, a common lizard here in North Florida. (Five pictures)

(Three perspectives) I discovered these leaves have the prettiest reddish-pink color forming at their tips, surely a sign of the changing of the seasons.

Day 182 – The Halftime Show

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort. – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Can you believe that we are already halfway through the year? I remember thinking that day 50 would never come, and now we are at day 182. Time does fly when you’re having fun!

Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture is an enhanced image of a photograph I took a few months ago. You’re seeing the negative image and a different color. Can you tell? Do you know?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 181)

Looks like I successfully disguised yesterday’s subject; the one perspective was “Looks like skin…or maybe skin with foundation makeup?” Alas, it was not skin.

So what was it? What you saw was the inside of a Magnolia leaf, which feels like fur. The Magnolia tree is just full of hidden treasures! Kudos to Ian for the suggestion.
