Curve | Weekly Photo Challenge | 06-17-16

Recently I finally “got” the Fibonacci sequence and it’s all about the curve. Nature has the best subjects, and this one? It’s all about the curve.

One of the prettiest covers I’ve ever seen adorns a sidewalk in Tampa, Florida; my interpretation of this week’s photo challenge, Circle.

Weekly Photo Challenge: On Top

2013_04_07_4733

During one of our visits to the Tallahassee Museum, I found this most peculiar bush, because its leaves had berries – or seed pods – attached on top. How often do you get to see something like that?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Street Life

20100720_9999

This is my favorite street life scene, taken in Kenmare, Ireland. This street was so interesting to explore, you can see the gentleman with the chairs and tables being set up in front of the pub, and different boutique shops and restaurants for as far as the eye can see. This is what I love about Ireland, everything is outdoor oriented, meaning people walk around, mill about on the streets, and just enjoy life. Ah, wish I was back there!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Selfie

sc

This is “moi,” starring as Nurse Ratchet for Halloween 2012; this devil woman is one of my favorite evil characters ever, from Ken Kesey’s book, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Note that I’ve got a somewhat wacky sense of humor, and I always try to find the levity in everything. In this case, you’ll notice a scar on my neck. Part of it is fresh and very real, as this is only two weeks after I had neck fusion surgery. I took a tube of lip gloss and made the scar reach across my neck to look like I’d been slashed with a knife (well, in reality I was). I joked that I smelled like strawberry blood. I also ordered a pair of white scrubs and sprayed red dye all over them to look like fake blood. The stethoscope is a real one, a present from my mom when I was just a “wee lass.” I made the RN badge – trust me, I am NOT a nurse! But I do “triage” documentation for a living. And I’ve also discovered since this selfie, that I love wearing scrubs. I just save this particular pair for Halloween time.

“It’s time for your pills!” (insert evil maniacal laugh here …)

Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge: Spot the Spot-i-cus

2012_12_16_9999_11
You don’t need this iPad. I’ll take care of it for you.

I’m just a big lover boy, I mean look at me!
2013_07_30_9999_19-2
Yes, I let her put this hat on me. The things I put up with!

Meet Spot, also known as “Spoticus” or “Big Boy” for his mighty girth. (Three pictures) He is truly one huge cat!

He was an impulse bring-home-a-new-kitty type deal (I held him at a friend’s place and he fell asleep in the crook of my arm, like how could I not bring him home?!?) Well, after getting in trouble with dear hubby, Spot stole his heart, too. Unfortunately, he didn’t win over either of the girl cats, but that’s a different story! He’s very vocal, loves to be patted on his rump, and squirms so with delight, he cannot sit still. He’s my big lover boy!

If you’d like to see other precious pets, such as my ferocious furry feline, go to Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge. You can play, too!
