Day 192 – Going to Seed

Change alone is eternal, perpetual, immortal. –¬†Arthur Schopenhauer

So much work and so little time to play, at least this blog allows me to play this daily game with all of you. Must balance work and play! So hard to do …

Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture is ready for you to guess. What do you see?

What Is It?!?

What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 191)

This one looks like part of some package decoration. A bow, or something along those lines.” Well, it’s not a bow, although I can see that! Is it a pine cone? No, not a pine cone either. So what was it?

What you saw was a seed pod from a rain lily. Several years ago my mom gave me these seeds and I just scattered them in my garden. Now I have hundreds! Whenever we get a good rain, the rain lilies bloom, and then form their seed pods. You don’t even have to plant the seeds, just scatter and let Mother Nature do the rest! I miss my mom’s yard, she had so many that it was like a blanket of flowers.

A picture of a rain lily. So pretty!
