The challenge: capture two images — a horizontal and a vertical version — of the same scene or subject. I usually take both horizontal and vertical images of the same scene, just to see which one works best. In this example, vibrant orchids adorn the foliage at Epcot in Disney World. In the vertical shot, I’m able to focus on one group of the orchids. (Two pictures)

All I can say is thank goodness for digital – when I had to use film I could only afford to take the one shot and pray it turned out Ok!
