Somewhere in Alabama, sitting next to a parking lot of a gas station/convenience store, is this Railroad Crossing sign along this very short stretch of train tracks. Was this once part of a longer stretch of railway? It’s just so out of place sitting right next to a parking lot! Watch out for the trains. Choo choo!
Want to play, too? http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/05/31/weekly-photo-challenge-the-sign-says/
I like the retro effect.

Thank you! I thought it seemed appropriate since this must be the remnants of an old railway.

Thanks! Random indeed, in the middle of nowhere pops up this little track. It certainly made a fun shot. 🙂

I love this. We have a park here in Melbourne which used to have a goods line running through it. When they pulled up the line they made a walking track but left jus a little bit so that you knew where the track came from. I made my first YouTube video about it several years ago.(2008….. primitive video but fun at the time)

Thanks, Terry! It’s kind of sad to see these old tracks and trains die away. But neat that some of these places keep a part of history.
