There are dark shadows on the earth, but its lights are stronger in the contrast. – Charles Dickens
Today’s mystery “what is it?!?” picture was inspired by the contrast, the dark shadows of the mystery subject. What does it look like to you? Can you tell?
What Is It?!?
What Was That?!? Yesterday’s Picture (Day 201)
Ah, Brenda, if you only knew just how close you were (well, you’re about to find out). Her first comment was, “Today’s look very Fourth of July. A noisemaker?” I replied that it wasn’t a noisemaker. Fireworks packing? Nope. Wonder Woman’s costume? Neither. Candy packaging? Not. “The legs of ten racing robots who fell over like dominoes when the first tripped over oreos.” And not those either.
So what was it?!? That original comment, “Today’s looks very Fourth of July,” was indeed correct, it just wasn’t a noisemaker. What you saw was United States of America patriotic-colored decorative garland. Yesterday my coworkers celebrated the return of Chris, who had recently returned from serving in the US Army in Afghanistan. Now there’s reason to celebrate and wear red, white, and blue!
Yesterday: Wow, there’s my name again! I’m getting famous. 😉
Todays: Darn! I thought I got that off my shoe! (Is it tar?) It looks kinda like that black landscape fabric people put down to discourage weeds for a year.

Well, the shotgun approach seems to occasionally send a pellet the right place… Plus it gives me a laugh. What a bonus!
