Cee said, “For today….Some kind of paper string for wrapping.“ It’s not paper string for wrapping, but kind of close. Ken said, “Looks like old electric wire sheathing.” Not old electric wire sheathing, although that is an interesting perspective. Brenda guessed, “Looks like twine or cord of some sort.” Ding ding ding! It is indeed cord. Kim mused, “Looks like the end of an old fashioned mop.” My hubby thought the same. Jude asked, “a loose ball of twine?” Not a loose ball of twine. Marso said, “Twine? By whatever name, it remains . . . beautiful.” Thank you! And twine is indeed close. Y Prior thought, “I agree – looks like gift wrapping/craft twine …” Again, twine, oh so close!

So yes, what you saw was the end of a skein of hemp cord. One day I’ll use it to make some macrame jewelry. … maybe when I finish this 365-day project? 😉
